Very comfortable hotel in the centre of Rye
very English, comfortable bed, friendly people, good english breakfast, view not great. If you like english style hotels this is a good one.
Everything fine except suggestion below your mature man acting as waiter and showing to room etc was great and very amusing - we enjoyed his service
Given how nice this place was - the terracing at back of room was poor - not swept, garden chairs not clean and all the garden pots not cared for and became places for at best weeds and at worse cigarette butts - you need a gardener for a couple of hours a week so not a big job it all needs some tlc and then come up to the excellent standard of the hotel in general - hope this helps
Solid old fashion values, attentive staff.
Felt the rooms were overpriced. I stayed in a superior deluxe at £175.00 per night excluding breakfast. I have paid less than this staying in London and other towns /cities in rooms of comparable size and facility.
Friendly staff, close to the shops and eateries.Internet in room was good.
room was small, shower tray was tiny not enough room. car park to Hotel rooms was like an epic voyage up to the stars.Too many steps for a mature couple,no help available for luggage.. Breakfast not included in the high prices.
Very clean, tasteful decor. Victorian style. All amenities. Courteous staff. nice quite atmosphere.
rather cramped accommodation( in our room.), lack of twin room accommodation
Everything, particularly the hotel decor.
The Spa facilities were good and the friendliness of staff is to be commended, the location within Rye and the car-park, once located, was in a very convenient location.
En-suite bathroom facilities were a little on the snug side and slightly dated.
The staff at the Rye Lodge Hotel made us feel very welcome and special from the minute we arrived until we sadly had to leave again. Exceptionally friendly service and very quaint, lovely hotel in the wonderful setting of Rye. The hotel is situated at the top of a cliff and there are spectacular views over the marshes from the front of the building. Room service breakfast at no extra cost than eating in the dining room was a nice touch, I highly recommend it!
Middle of Rye and accessible to all parts of town. Ideal having car parking available and a nice patio area which we enjoyed during exceptional weather.
Unusual to have blankets and covers in this duvet age but otherwise a most enjoyable stay. We will be back!.
Great location, good parking at rear of premises. Pretty location to visit. Hotel staff very helpful special mention for Michael night porter who was very informative on local area.
Liked everything and would recommend to other visitors. Plan to go back for another stay.
The hotel is in the heart of Rye and has parking which makes it an ideal place to enjoy the town. The hotel is extremely comfortable and well maintained. The room was perfectly adequate and clean and the breakfast was very good. The lack of a restaurant was not a problem. The staff varied from excellent to very poor which is a shame. Overall a lovely hotel but not the best value for money.
Other than being a little expensive for the level of facilities very little fault can be found other than the unfortunate rudeness of one member of staff whom when approached about the afternoon tea enquired who exactly we were in a manner that was insulting. The tea was very nice however.
Its position in town- on the edge but within easy walking distance to everything
Tiny shower room-really not up to scratch. Nowhere to put anything eg wash bag or damp towels. Basin so small and low, very difficult to clean teeth. Poor evening service eg at bar/reception breakfast not included in high price No guide in room about to ring reception or room service
Nothing was ever any trouble to the staff and they kindly upgraded us to a better room as the swimming pool was being painted on our arrival.
We were welcomed and made to feel at home immediately , the rooms were very good and having the indoor pool was a bonus. The location is ideal for looking ariound Rye and if staying longer the area around Rye itself. I would always use this hotel in the future for any trips and overnight stays in Rye.
